Cookie Policy
Effective date: 1 April 2026 — Baobab Ads (operated by Advert Solutions Ghana Ltd., registered in the Republic of Ghana)
This policy explains how Baobab Ads uses cookies and browser storage on advertsgh.com and what choices you have.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They allow the site to recognise your browser on return visits, keep you signed in, and remember your preferences. We also use browser-based storage mechanisms (localStorage and sessionStorage) to enable offline functionality in our platform.
2. Cookies We Use
| Cookie / Storage | Type | Purpose | Set by | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __session, __client | Essential | Maintains your authenticated session | Clerk | Session / 1 year |
| __cf_bm, cf_clearance | Essential | Cloudflare bot management and DDoS protection | Cloudflare | 30 min / 1 day |
| theme | Functional | Remembers your light/dark mode preference | Baobab Ads | 1 year |
| localStorage (campaign cache) | Functional | Caches playlist and creative data on TV player devices for offline delivery | Baobab Ads (TV player) | Until synced |
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or behavioural profiling cookies of any kind.
3. Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are required for the platform to function. Without them, you cannot sign in, access the dashboard, or use any authenticated features. Because they are strictly necessary, they cannot be disabled through our settings — though you can always clear them through your browser.
4. Functional Cookies
Functional cookies enhance your experience but are not required for core functionality. The theme preference cookie, for example, ensures the platform loads in your chosen colour mode without a flash. You can clear this cookie at any time without losing access to the platform.
5. Analytics
We currently do not use analytics cookies or third-party analytics services. We measure aggregate platform health (uptime, error rates, API latency) using our own infrastructure logs. These logs contain no persistent identifiers linked to individual users.
If we introduce analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy and provide appropriate opt-out controls before deployment.
6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Common options include:
- Block all cookies — note this will prevent you from signing in to the Baobab Ads platform.
- Delete cookies on exit — you will be signed out each time you close the browser.
- Block third-party cookies — this will not affect core Baobab Ads functionality as we do not rely on third-party advertising cookies.
7. Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy if we introduce new cookies or storage mechanisms. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice before taking effect.
